To celebrate Singapore’s 49th birthday, SingTel, one of the country’s main telco, has decided to generously offer all postpaid mobile subscribers free all day unlimited mobile data usage on August 9. The free unlimited mobile data is applicable to all 2G, 3G, and 4G postpaid subscribers.

New SingTel customers are also in it for a treat: customers who register for any SingTel mobile plan from now until August 10 will also get to enjoy an additional 4.9GB of local data bundle every month for three months. Customers will also receive a discount off selected handsets when they sign up for any SingTel mobile plan (Lite Plan and above). These promotions are also applicable for existing customers who want to renew their contracts.

“We are delighted to be celebrating this important day with all Singaporeans and our customers. We hope this will help bring our customers closer to their friends and family. Sharing special moments in photos or videos of their favourite National Day activities will be made possible with SingTel’s network,” said Yuen Kuan Moon, SingTel’s CEO Consumer Singapore.

The unlimited mobile data usage will start at August 9 from the 0000 hr. While the promo states unlimited local mobile data usage, SingTel reserves the right to levy prevailing charges if the usage is deemed excessive or abusive.

SingTel has been trying hard to win the hearts of customers in Singapore. Earlier this year, it launched the country’s first prepaid mobile Facebook plan. Customers who are on prepaid plan are now able to access Facebook on their mobile phones. Shortly after that, it launched the country’s first discounted mobile plans for seniors, to enable those aged 55 and above to engage in online activities and social media, play games off mobile devices, or share photos and videos while on the move.

In June, SingTel also announced a new mobile plan called Easy Mobile that allows users to customise their mobile tariff plans every month to suit their needs and budget.
