Let’s dive straight into why ‘The Amazing Spiderman 2’ is a must watch for this mid-week holiday.

Reason #1 Andrew Garfield returning as Spiderman/Peter Parker

Andrew Garfield is by far the better of the two Spidermans.

Spiderman/Peter Paker is supposed to be a complete goofball who rarely takes any situation seriously and delivers one-liners as he enjoys battling the bad guys. Tobey Maguire’s Peter Parker was a socially awkward nerd with a blank expression which did not make him too likable. On the other hand, Andrew Garfield not only enjoys being Spiderman, but it seems to me that he was born to play the character.

Reason #2 Chemistry between Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone

I like Emma Stone. The words to describe her would be “interesting” and “sassy” while the whole time being “approachable.” In the previous movie, the chemistry between the two main characters made the movie so enjoyable to watch. Apparently, in this movie, the relationship between them will get strained due to the death of Emma Stone’s character (Gwen Stacy’s) father.

We are expecting some good lines and genuine warm moments between the two of them. In case you are not aware, they are also a real life couple.

Reason #3  Three Villains: The Green Goblin, Electro and The Rhino

In an effort to focus on the character development of Spiderman and Gwen Stacy, the last Spiderman movie pitted him against a not-so formidable villain, the Lizard.

The writers decided they had enough and now put Spiderman against three different villains. First, there is Harry Osborne/Green Goblin, played by Dane Deehan, who was amazing as a social outcast turned super-villain in the movie ‘Chronicle’. Then, there is Jamie Foxx, who will be Electro and Paul Giamatti as the Rhino. Although the villains are not as lethal as Venom and Carnage (with the exception of the Green Goblin), we can expect the action to be fast paced enough to keep us glued to our seats.

This final trailer for Godzilla made me and the other fan boys weep. Not only do we get a very good look at Godzilla, we realized Godzilla is the anti-hero brought to battle “the Muto”, another genetically modified monster. Add on top of that the shaky voice over from Bryan Cranston/Walter White ending with “God Help Us All.”
