Cool App Episode Lets You Explore Your Whole New Virtual Life

Some people read to have multiple lives. They see the written word as a care package for their bookish soul (and television for the brain); and they devour books as if there was no tomorrow. I know this, because I’m one of them. And perhaps, you are too.

Not much of a reader, but wonder if you could still explore an interactive and visually appealing setting? That’s not going to be an issue, because with Episode, an app developed by Pocket Gems, you can experience an alternative lifestyle with the same spark.

“Welcome to Episode: your home for interactive, visual stories, where as the player YOU choose what path your character takes! Explore our wide catalogue of stories in any of your favourite genres from adventure to romance to fantasy!”

“What Episode really is, is a way of re-envisioning of storytelling for a modern mobile audience.”

– Pocket Gems CEO Daniel Terry

It goes without saying that Episode is living proof that storytelling can have a vibrant presence in the digital world. The graphics are engaging and it gives realistic responses to every player’s actions. Pocket Gems CEO Daniel Terry describes the app, which was launched less than six months ago, as “something between a TV show, a comic book and a novel.”

It was just announced last week that Episode has registered its 500,000th writer! To boot, veterans of Marvel Comics and TV series Supernatural are also joining the bandwagon to create animated stories for the storytelling app.

“We’re also investing heavily in the capability around storytelling. Our audience loves the stories that are in there now, but we really want to continue to invest in that and put out the highest quality stories that exist whether on mobile or off-mobile. There’s a lot of learning for us to do there.”

– Daniel Terry on the future of Episode

Pocket Gems is now focusing on growing Episode. Terry describes that “the visuals are great for a first-generation product, but our next generation aims to blow people away.” It sure looks like the team is dedicated to stepping it up.

That said, Episode is definitely worth keeping an eye out for.
