Sony Bend, the developers that brought Uncharted: Golden Abyss to the PS Vita are hard at work on a new PS4 game that will “blow people away.” Intrigued? So are we.

Christopher Reese, the studio’s technical director, shared the news in a job recruitment post on Gamasutra. Reese mentioned that the team is looking for some “badass coders to help us push the PS4 somewhere it’s never been before”, using Unreal Engine 4. The engine is the current benchmark when it comes to making new games. With Unreal Engine 4, developers don’t need to come up with their own gaming engine, which in turn shortens development time.

“I think the thing I’m most excited about is the fact we’re doing a PS4 game, and it’s next gen, and to me that means we face the challenges of reaching a quality bar that’s going to make for an awesome experience for the player,” Reese said.

To date, Sony Bend has been working on the new game for over a year. No other information about the game has been given.

Sony Bend was behind the brilliant Syphon Filter games that made its debut for the PlayStation 1. With its third person shooter gameplay, players had to sneak around the game’s environment to take on unsuspecting enemies or they could go in guns blazing, but that is really no way to play the game.

Could a return for the franchise be on the cards?
