So if you are travelling to Bangkok, the app might be a handy guide. How do we know you would love Bangkok?enablejsapi=1&html5=1& Bangkok recently topped the World’s 10 most visited cities. It had 15.98 million international visitors who spent at least one night. In 2012 too, Bangkok Airport has beaten Disneyland, the Eiffel Tower and Times Square to be the most “Instagrammed” location in the world for 2012, giving us a good idea on the volume of people going in and out of Bangkok.

While the app might be useful, for travellers looking to travel to Bangkok this month, the Thai Government has recently imposed the Internal Security Act in three districts of Bangkok – Dusit, Pom Prab, and Phra Nakorn – until 30 November 2013.

During this period, a number of political demonstrations are expected to take place in central Bangkok. Protest areas may include Ratchadamnoen Avenue, Silom Road, Ratchaprasong intersection, Sam Sen train station, Lumphini Park, and Uruphong intersection. Travellers travelling to Bangkok during this period are advised to stay away from large crowds and demonstrations, monitor local news and developments, take all necessary precautions for personal safety, and purchase comprehensive travel and medical insurance.
