Specs

The Mi Pad tablet is powered by a Quad-core 2.2 GHz and Tegra K1 processor. In terms of design, many people have been comparing the Mi Pad with the iPad mini due to their similar screens and resolutions.

It is undeniable that both tablets look almost identical at first glance. Both tablets share the same pixel density of 324 ppi, sport 7.9 inch screen sizes and have 2048 X 1536 resolutions. The Mi Pad also has a 6,700mAh capacity battery, and like its Apple counterpart, the battery is not removable.

In terms of its camera, however, the Xiaomi Mi Pad stands out with its 5-megapixel front camera, and even boasts an 8-megapixel rear camera.

Pricing

There is no official statement about how much the Mi Pad will cost when it arrives in Malaysia. As a gauge, though, it costs 1,299 RMB (about RM745) for 16GB, and 1,699 RMB (RM975) for its larger 64GB version in the mainland. We’re guessing that the Mi Pad will most likely to be priced at less than RM800 for 16GB, and below RM900 for the 64GB version.

Xiaomi’s Mi Pad has not launched globally as of yet. This means that if it does come to Malaysia, we’ll be the second country after China to have the Mi Pad tablet in stores.
