‘Vigilante’ Group SMRT Ltd (Feedback) Slapped With Court Order For Abusive Acts Towards Xiaxue

This article was originally published on Vulcan Post.

SMRT Ltd has been presented with a court order that may reveal their identities.

The Singaporean online group well known for attacking unpopular characters, thus earning them the title of ‘Internet Vigilantes’, has recently turned their eyes onto Xiaxue, a popular Singaporean blogger. The comments made online has been ongoing for over a month, and it seems that Xiaxue, who also goes by Wendy Cheng, has had enough.

She has retaliated with a court order that prevents them from “making insulting or abusive communication” with her or her family. The court order mentioned specifically her husband Michael Sayre, and son Dashiel.

This court order was sent to the group yesterday, and SMRT Ltd (Feedback) posted this last night in response, saying that “It’s time to wrap things up”.

However, they have posted yet another post today in a more subdued tone, saying that they are to reveal their identities on this page as well as post an apology by 12pm tomorrow.

Whether this revelation of identities is due to a separate legal issue is unknown, as the court order never specified a need to reveal their identities. For all we know, it might be the start of yet another troll by the infamous troll group, which may not turn up well for the group legally.

Will this be the end SMRT Ltd (Feedback)? Or will this be the beginning of yet another social media sh*tstorm? In any case, it’s probably best to keep your eyes peeled for what happens next.
