You might remember an article we wrote recently on mobile dating app Paktor, where Malaysian Instagram sensation Min Chen shared that she has been using Paktor to know more friends.

“I use Paktor once or twice a day, depending on how busy I am or during my lunch break. If I am chatting to someone on the app then I tend to spend more time on the app,” she said in the interview.

If you’re busy like Min Chen, and spend long hours working in front of the laptop daily, we have good news for you: we’ve just got news that Paktor recently introduced a web version of its app:

It’s a lot more convenient, especially if you’re already seated in front of your laptop — you don’t have to toggle between your phone and computer every time you want to check/scroll through the app. The functions on the web version are also similar to what you would experience on the mobile app: you can use the web app to discover new friends on Paktor, clicking ‘X’ if you don’t like what you see, and ‘√’ if you do.

Going web seems to be a natural progression for mobile chat apps nowadays: in January, WhatsApp announced that it is now available on web, albeit for Android users only. Other than that, popular chat apps such as LINE have also launched their own desktop versions.

With one of the largest user bases in the region with over 1.5 million registered users, Paktor has enabled over 40 million matches to date. It’s an impressive number, and with the convenience afforded thanks to the launch of the web version, it seems Paktor will only be adding to that number.
