Social networks such as Facebook and Twitter has long been used as a platform for its users to share and voice their thoughts and opinions.
Singapore opposition politician Nicole Seah recently also jumped onto the bandwagon, whom opened up and revealing for the first time on Facebook that she suffered a meltdown over a series of events that unfolded this year in her life.
A little background story: Nicole Seah Xue Ling is a Singaporean politician. She was a National Solidarity Party (NSP) candidate for the Marine Parade Group Representation Constituency in the 2011 Singaporean general election. At 24 she was the youngest female candidate standing in the election and immediately became a target of media attention, which became increasingly pronounced as her speeches began to go viral on YouTube. During the election, she was described as the second most popular politician online, after Lee Kuan Yew.
According to her online LinkedIn profile, Nicole is currently a Senior Account Manager for IPG Mediabrands.
In her Facebook post, Nicole shared that 2013 has been the worse year of her life so far, how she says she was “derailed” from her larger purpose, taking on opportunities with being elected in 2016 in mind, how she was played out dating 2-3 men who were “obviously more interested” in her public profile than who she really was as a person, how she was constantly being stalked with rape and death threats, and how she had her meltdown.
