SG50 Strikes Again: Tuition Centre Hops On Bandwagon With Cringey Video

We’ve seen SG50 fishcakes, we’ve seen 50g more bacon because of SG50, we’ve seen the weepy videos — SG50 fever is a thing all right. And it seems even pre-school children are not spared from this craze.

Young children and parents in Singapore would be familiar with the phonics class, where people are taught to read by correlating sounds with symbols (alphabets) in an alphabetic writing system. And enrichment centre My English School Singapore has jumped on the SG50 bandwagon with this specially curated, Singapore-themed phonics video.

But really, B-b-b Ba kut teh? Or P-p-p Pasir ris? Wait till you reach ‘Z’ — that is if you can sit through the whole thing. It’s official: this island has gone SG50 mad. All y’all kids learning phonics this year, godspeed and good luck.

This one is definitely going under the Simi Sai Also SG50 umbrella. Can don’t SG50 for the sake of Sg50?
