How do you want your flame-grilled PERi-PERi chicken to be? Lemon and herb, mild, hot or extra hot? What about getting your chicken choice for free? Good news to all the Malaysian Nando’s lovers out there. Nando’s new mobile app is going to reward loyal diners with free meals.

All you have to do is download Nando’s new mobile app and register yourself to join the tasty Nando’s PERi-Vilege Loyalty programme. You are then able to enjoy the rewards by collecting a “Chilli” everytime you dine-in at Nando’s outlets and spend a minimum of RM30.

For every third, 6th and 9th chillies collected, you will be rewarded free chicken. The first three chillies collected will earn you a quarter chicken, half chicken for six chillies collected and a full chicken for nine chillies collected.

All you have to do is flash your member ID from your mobile phone when you dine at any Nando’s restaurant, and the chilli will automatically store in your app. You can keep track on the chillies via the app. And when you wish to redeem the reward, simply flash your member ID and inform the staff when placing your order.

Nando’s Chickenland Malaysia Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Ian Cruddas said as the company is constantly evolving, digital platform has become one of the most important marketing strategies for the company.

“The reason we decided to build the loyalty programme into the app is because we understand the constant changes in our consumer’s lifestyles.

“The one thing people cannot leave home without these days are their mobile phones, so it makes perfect sense to create our loyalty programme on that platform,” he was quoted saying by The Malaysian Insider.

The new Nando’s mobile app is completed with a restaurant locator, where you can find a Nando’s outlet near you.

Also, the app comes along with a Nando’s menu, helping you to decide your lunch or dinner before you even enter the restaurant. This is particular useful, especially if you usually take some time to decide on what you want to eat.

The full menu is equipped with a calories calculator that indicates the calories for each meal. I must say that this is quite a considerate effort seeing as most people these days have become rather health conscious.

You can select the meals and side dishes that you want and add the calories to the calculator, and then by clicking on the heart icon at the top right of the app, you can see the total calories of your lunch or dinner. Does make planning your work out easier, doesn’t it? You can plan your exercise to burn half of those calories!

Now For The Bad News..

A small downside is that the new Nando’s PERi-Vilege Loyalty programme does not link to your previous card membership. Meaning to say, for those who have spent RM10 on the Nando’s card membership, you will have to register again on the app. Good thing is, this round the registration is free of charge. But still you have to re-enter your particulars in order to enjoy the rewards.

Another downside for the app and the new loyalty programme is that you will only get the chilli point if you dine in Nando’s restaurants. No chillies will be given for delivery orders. So, if you are Nando’s fan but always opt for delivery, then you will not benefit from this loyalty programme.

Unfortunately, the app does not provide delivery services so customers cannot use it to order Nando’s to be delivered to their homes. Customers will just have to stick with the delivery hotline service for now.

On a lighter note, anyone who downloads the app now will be entitled to rebates up to 25 per cent! For more information, please visit www.perivilege.com.

Apple users can download the app here, and Android users here for free.
