StarHub unveils Singapore’s first LINE mobile pre-paid plan

Good news all LINE fans! StarHub and global mobile platform LINE have jointly unveiled Singapore’s first LINE plan exclusively for StarHub Mobile pre-paid customers.

With this, users can chat, text and send over 10,000 LINE stickers and emoticons to their heart’s content at just 40 cents a day or $6 for a 30-day plan. Starting 15 February, customers can activate StarHub’s LINE plan by simply dialling *123# on their mobile phone.

Surpassing 340 million global users recently, LINE’s popularity has been growing at an exponential rate since its initial launch in 2011. The mobile platform features user-friendly and dynamic services, ranging from its core messaging service to value-added features like LINE Games, LINE Camera and LINE Cards. With Singapore as a critical market to continue its global success, LINE plans to offer tailored services to Singapore consumers through its exclusive partnership with StarHub.

Coming up next, StarHub and LINE have plans to organise exclusive LINE merchandise giveaways and offer special benefits to users of LINE’s suite of apps. If you’re already getting extremely excited, check out more information on StarHub’s LINE plan here.

According to Mr Simeon Cho, General Manager of LINE Business Development Division, “Our partnership with StarHub will enable Singapore consumers to communicate with their loved ones in a convenient and dynamic way with LINE’s advanced features. Ever since our launch in Singapore last year, we have been searching for opportunities to offer localised services specially designed for Singapore users. Our partnership with StarHub is a foothold to further our business in this region, as LINE continuously develops features and local content to enrich user experience.”

As for StarHub, this partnership with LINE, whose base of users have been growing, shows that StarHub is serious about their overall customer experience.

Mr Chan Kin Hung, Head of Mobility, StarHub also said that “Singapore’s mobile pre-paid market has much room for further growth, especially in mobile data use. To fuel this growth amid evolving consumer communication needs, we are happy to be the first local telco to offer hassle-free access to one of the world’s most popular social platform at a very affordable rate. We believe our LINE plan will be well received by customers, as they increasingly rely on fun, innovative social messaging services and stay online for longer.”

This move by StarHub is merely one of the many indications of their emphasis on using digital media to improve customer experience. Earlier, Starhub also partnered Evernote to offer a complimentary 1-year Evernote Premium subscription worth $58 with any 2-year mobile phone package. They sure know how to keep their customers coming back!
