We Ask 10 Malaysian Beauty Bloggers To Share Their Holy Grail Beauty Tool

Beauty lies in the eyes of its beholder, and this is an age-old adage that most would agree to. However, as immaculate as we wish to present ourselves to the world, there seems to be one magic beauty tool that we simply cannot live without. This tool can elevate our confidence and bring a bounce back into our step as we leave the door each morning, and it can be as simple as a comb to a pair of tweezers.

We asked 10 Malaysian beauty bloggers to spill on the one holy grail item that they simply cannot live without, because who better to know the art of beauty like the back of their hands, than beauty bloggers themselves.

Jessica is currently a full-time blogger and she blogs about food, travel, beauty and occasionally tech. She saw a gap in the blogosphere regarding drug store brand product reviews and decided to bridge this gap in 2013 with her blog.

The one beauty item that she currently can’t live without is her hair heat tamer spray and it is a heat protector prior to using any tools for the mane, which emanates heat. “My life has never been the same since I found out about it. It not only protects my hair but I notice that it leaves my hair softer after drying my hair with a hairdryer. It is definitely a must-have for all those with frizzy hair, and it totally saves me from any bad hair day,” Jessica told Vulcan Post.

2. Arisa Chow, Blogger at Irrevocable Passion

Diana’s beauty kryptonite is a pair of eyebrow tweezers. “It’s because if I leave my eyebrows unkempt for more than 2 days, I’ll end up looking like a bushman with a caterpillar crawling across my forehead!” Diana said.

4. Carinn Tan, Blogger at Extraordinarinn.com

Carinn is a marketing executive in a beauty e-commerce company, and she blogs about petite fashion, beauty, shopping and other girly things which she enjoys.

The one beauty tool that Carinn simply cannot live without is a hair dryer, which she has been using almost everyday since she was a teen. “I’ve had long, fine hair almost all my life so it’s important for me to blow dry, or my hair will end up looking flat and limp. I’ve heard people say that using a hair dryer frequently is bad for the hair but it seems to be okay for me so far. Plus, who likes having wet hair stains on their shirt?” Carinn shared.

5. Nicole Leong, Blogger at Nicole Yie

Leona’s holy grail beauty tool is a manual skin cleansing brush, because cleansing is very important for her skin especially after using makeup. She said, “I need to do at least 3 steps of cleansing, and I need a brush to really remove all the makeup and dead skin cell to make sure nothing is stuck in the pores before applying skincare, or else it is a waste when expensive skincare cannot penetrate.”

7. Maple Kok, Blogger at Maple’s Diary

Maple said, “If there is only one beauty tool that I have to have, it would be a facial spray. Seriously, it’s so handy when you feel hot and the pleasant fragrance makes me feel better. Call me freaky, but a facial mist is something that I cannot live without.”

Claudine is a trade finance relationship executive and she blogs about beauty, fashion and lifestyle. She began blogging as a means of leaving her comfort zone, when she got out of a long term relationship. Claudine believes that every girl has her own definition of what beauty means to her.

The one beauty tool that she must have with her at all times is a duo compact mirror. Claudine said, “There’s two sides to the mirror, the normal mirror and the magnified mirror, so it comes in handy every time I touch up my makeup when I’m out. The magnified mirror really gives you that magnified view of your face, so your makeup—especially the eyebrows—will always be on ‘fleek’! Plus who knows, the mirror might just be useful to check out a cute guy standing at the corner of a café!”

9. Sydney Lim, Blogger at SomeThinkBlack

This has worked for me for so many liquid or cream products including various foundations, BB/CC creams, blushes, bronzers and highlighters alike. If I could only bring one beauty tool with me on a desert island, it would be this!” Sydney said.

Clarrisha shared with Vulcan Post that eyebrow tweezers would be her must-have beauty tool because she has really thin and sparse eyebrows. “I definitely can’t stand it when my eyebrows are out of shape, that’s why I always have an eyebrow tweezer on-the-go in my bag,” she said.
