Get Ready, This 4-Minute Video Is All You’ve Imagined About Japan—And More

Japan is arguably one of the countries with an everlasting vibrant vibe that makes visitors want to stay, and locals never want to leave. Their fast-paced lifestyle collides beautifully with their olden day culture and it is a seamless blend between modern and tradition that makes Japan a unique place to be. I’ve never set foot in Japan in my entire life, but how do I know this?

Vimeo user Vincent Urban recently released a 4-minute long video on his account about his 3 week travel in Japan. The freelance film maker and video editor put his set of skills to use with his footage of the country. Interesting little clips of geishas, trains, dance, and bright lights encapsulates what Japan is all about—in just 4 minutes.

Vincent is no stranger to documenting his travels around the world and some of the places in which he has set foot in includes Turkey, South America and Oman. All of his videos are breathtaking and invokes a sense of wanderlust in the one who is watching but what stands out most about his video of Japan is how he matches it perfectly with the Japanese lifestyle.

Vincent shared on his page, “This film is a collection of audiovisual moments and memories of a 3-week railway journey through Japan in 2015. We were whizzing through the country with the Shinkansen visiting Tokyo, Osaka, Hiroshima and Kyoto as well as lots of wonderful little places along the way, meeting the most friendly people and experiencing a culture that somehow balances its rich tradition with a very futuristic present.”

Fast-paced cuts are pieced together so much so that it feels like a roller coaster ride just watching the video. In fact, one of the comments on the video was, “Beautifully intense and mesmerising view of Japan. Thank you for the great journey.”

Vincent was able to perfectly sum up the Japanese experience, and by sharing what he went through, he was able to highlight Japan’s best. So now excuse me while I book my flight tickets there —and you should too.
