The best wedding photographer knows how and when to take the perfect shots.

According to one Rory Gilmore, they’re an expert at taking candid photographs along with the formal ones. That way they’re able to capture a lot of the newlyweds’ favourite moments and they won’t be stuck with the awkward, posed shots.

It’s not a lot to ask. What all newlyweds want is a gorgeous set of photos that they can look back on in the future. How hard could it be?

Apparently a lot.

Lady Luck sure wasn’t standing by this Singaporean couple’s side.

Last Sunday, one Jaclyn Ying recounted her awful experience with an incompetent wedding photographer in a brief Facebook post. The gist — the couple bought a full wedding package at a respected bridal shop, but was told that they couldn’t choose their photographer.

“Before we signed on, we were told that while we couldn’t choose our photographer, the standard of the talent pool was consistent. Naturally (and being Singaporean), we asked, “Sure annot.” And [we] were promptly shown a portfolio of actual day photos,” wrote Jaclyn.

They went ahead with it.

“They looked alright, and so we signed on thinking, ‘Okay la hor, how bad can they be.'”

And dear God Almighty, did they regret it.

“It’s bad, guys. Like, first-date-and-you-clog-the-toilet-with-your-pangsai bad. Or, trust-a-fart-and-a-bit-of-poop-comes-out bad. (I’m not saying any of those things happened to me before.)”

But there’s an upside.

Jaclyn reassured everyone that she’s not shaming the photographer or the bridal shop. Rather, she is choosing to look on the bright side — by using humour.

Don’t take this the wrong way though – this is not a flame and shame post. We just wanted to share some of these hilariously bad photos with everyone, so sorry ar if your unglam face is in this.”

While Jaclyn did not share the bridal shop and the photographer’s name in her public Facebook post, she did add that if any bride-to-be friend were to contact her about the details in private, she would be happy to help.

The couple has already contacted the bridal shop and both parties are looking into the matter.

“We’re looking for some redress from the shop at the moment, but nothing is going to take away the fact that our wedding photos by this dude are pretty much ruined. What’s more, he was our only “pro” photog for that day. This stag worked solo, man.”

The post has since been shared over 10,000 times.
