Being a rather big country, it’s quite surprising to know that New Zealand has faced issues when it comes to employing local workers for their industries.
In fact, the government of the country has recently increased its quota for the Recognised Seasonal Employer (RSE) scheme for short term migrants working on vineyards and orchards by 1,000 to 10,500 for the 2016/17 season in response on tackling this issue.
Even the Prime Minister himself has said that New Zealand heavily relies on foreign labour due to their own locals not being enough manpower to drive their industries forward.
So if you’ve ever wondered what it was like to live in New Zealand for an extended period of time and have a go at their working culture, here’s your chance.
The New Zealand Immigration Department has recently uploaded information regarding next year’s application for citizens to apply for a Malaysian Working Travel Visa.
This entails a prime opportunity for young Malaysians looking to travel for a few months but also gain experience through earning a living in New Zealand.
The Malaysian Working Travel Visa allows Malaysians to travel to New Zealand for a set duration of 6 months. The minimum requirement is that the applicant must be a Malaysian aged 18 to 30 and own around NZ$ 2,250 (RM7,160) to be used during their stay. The visa allows applicants to study and work during their stay.
There is a set quota of 1150 spots for the year and the application date will be on 20th January 2017.
