GrabCar Continues Conquest Of M’sia—4 More States In Just Over 6 Months

Grab has been having a good start to the year so far, with the launch of a few of their new services such as GrabShare and GrabRewards. Now, they’re looking to expand their GrabCar reach even further by providing their service to 4 new states in Malaysia.

Starting from March 15, the new areas where GrabCar will be available now is in Ipoh, Kuantan, Kuching, and Seremban which also include Nilai and Port Dickson.

The ride-hailing service has come far since its launch in Klang Valley back in 2014.

GrabCar’s journey in Malaysia so far.

“As a Malaysian homegrown company, we understand local nuances and consumer needs, therefore we are able to work alongside the government to address the transport issues in in the country,” said Sean Goh, Country Head of Grab Malaysia in a press release.

The GrabCar expansion to the other states will follow their current guidelines and provide the same benefits other users have been enjoying such as GrabChat and GrabRewards.

Aside from their expansion, Grab was recently appointed by the Pahang state government as one of the official partners for Visit Pahang 2017.

“We are honoured with the appointment and the opportunity to serve the tourism industry in the state. With a strong presence in six countries regionally and 36 million downloads, we are certainly poised to be the ride of choice for locals and regional travellers,” shared Sean.

Bringing In Job Opportunities and Additional Income

For the locals in this state who have been meaning to work with GrabCar for additional income, the opportunity is now here. Recently, Grab introduced a few new reward schemes to remunerate top performing drivers, such as Grab’s Ambassador Programme.

“We would not be where we are today without the support of our Driver-Partners who have been consistently out-serving our passengers. We are constantly iterating our rewards schemes and are also in discussions with partners to see how we can help alleviate their daily cost of driving,” elaborated Sean.
