Sharing more about the third-generation Porsche Design phone, Yu said that the Porsche Design Huawei Mate Series began in 2016, and this new launch of the Porsche Design Huawei Mate RS is an extension of their collaboration.

It aims to set a new standard in premium smartphones, and has pushed the boundaries of technology thus far with the introduction of features like the world’s first dual fingerprint, an AI-powered processor, and a Leica triple camera with 40MP image capture.

Key Features of the Huawei P20 Series

The Huawei P20 Pro features a Leica triple camera with the industry’s highest pixel count – the camera configuration comprises a 40MP RGB sensor, a 20MP monochrome sensor, and a 8MP sensor with telephoto lens.

It also features a dedicated ISP and colour temperature sensor for better colour reproduction.

With f/1.8, f/1.6 and f/2.4 wide aperture to capture details with perfect clarity, the Huawei P20 Pro also includes a brand new Leica lens with 3x optical zoom.

It also enables long-range photography of up to 5x hybrid zoom as well as a highly sensitive image sensor of 1/1.7 inches model to capture low-light images and photos with up to ISO 102400.

Meanwhile, the Huawei P20 builds on the foundation of its predecessor with an all-new camera featuring a 12MP sensor and a 20MP monochrome sensor, enhancing its ability to capture photos in low-light settings.

In addition, both phones feature a 24MP selfie camera with AI beautification and 3D portrait lighting.

The Huawei P20 Series’ Kirin 970 processor and dedicated Neural Network Processing Unit (NPU) enable truly effortless photography.

AI-powered scene and object recognition has the ability to identify 19 different scenarios and objects, and chooses the right skills for the right moment for you.

What’s new to Huawei’s advanced camera system is 4D predictive focus, which allows the camera to predict moving objects and focuses on them with extreme efficiency in order to capture minute details of objects in motion.

The AI-Assisted Composition is also a new feature, and it helps provide intelligent suggestions to frame group shots (five people or more) and landscapes.

In addition, Huawei AIS (AI Image Stabilisation) steadies handheld night shots, resulting in incredible pictures even without the help of a tripod.

This also benefits videos, as the Huawei P20 Series devices support six-axis stabilisation and 960fps slow motion for clear and detailed footage.

2. Light-Inspired Design

The Huawei P20 Series comes in an all-new exclusive colour called Twilight.

When light hits the surface, it will refract and create a gradual change in hue, from a striking blue to a twilight effect.

The Huawei P20 Series also feature ultra-thin bezels and a Huawei FullView Display (5.8-inch for the Huawei P20 and 6.1-inch for the Huawei P20 Pro).

3. AI-Powered, Intelligent Experience

Powered by Kirin 970 with EMUI 8.1 based on Android 8.1, the Huawei P20 Series delivers premium performance and a smooth user experience.

EMUI 8.1, fully customisable with AI support, includes Huawei Share 2.0 to seamlessly share files between Huawei phones, PCs and Macs.

This easy projection feature connects the Huawei P20 Series wirelessly to a larger screen, and a Smart Screen function for an intelligent split-screen interface to run two supported apps side by side.

However, the exact launch date, including pricing details and the colour availability, will only be announced early April 2018.

Meanwhile, the more exclusive Porsche Design Huawei Mate RS will only be made available in Singapore in May this year.
