Homegrown monitor brand SuperSolid makes its debut at COMEX 2018 today (6 September) with its SuperSolid X270.

The SuperSolid X270 is described as a high-resolution, colour-accurate monitor that’s designed for content creation and entertainment consumption.

It’s an “accessible go-to option for high-resolution and colour-accurate displays” for creative professionals and home entertainment users.

Key Features of the X270:

SuperSolid promises it to be a gaming and productivity hybrid monitor that provides a “fluid performance with no image tearing at virtually any framerate” and the “perfect desktop accessory for console gamers, content creators and entertainment users”.

For creators, the X270 has 4.5 times more pixels than a typical 1080p HD display which makes individual pixels indistinguishable, allowing the user to have multiple tools and windows open, all while giving them sharp images and high accuracy.

The infinity display and IPS panel that boasts 16.7 million colours will give creators an immersive experience – great for production and for consumption.

For the gamers, the X270 makes gaming in 4K 60FPS a reality as the 75Hz refresh rate displays graphics as smooth as butter and defines the tiniest of details.

“If you study the monitor market today, you’ll realize that it’s missing an affordable 4K option,” said Eugene Lim, founding member of SuperSolid.

“The X270 is our way of showing Singaporeans that good things don’t necessarily have to be expensive – you just have to know where to look.”

But if you prefer a dedicated gaming monitor, then the SuperSolid R270 is recommended.

Key Features of the R270:

SuperSolid claims that most other “gaming” panels at this price point use VA panels that show 400-500% slower response times than the R270.

Like the X270, the panel can support 16.7 million colours (8-bit), and the maximum brightness it can reach is 350 cd/m2 with HDR.

“The combination of 27-inch, 1440p and 144Hz is golden for a gaming monitor,” Eugene shared.

“High-resolution 144Hz displays are the future, and this is especially relevant in light of NVIDIA’s new GeForce RTX 20-series graphics cards, which provides more power to drive higher frame-rates.”

All SuperSolid monitors are Grade A, sharing the “exact same quality panels used by the top three monitor brands worldwide”.

The X270 is launching at S$389 while the R270 is launching at S$429.

SuperSolid is offering an additional $50 discount when customers trade-in their working monitors (24-inch and above), limited to one trade-in monitor per purchase.

SuperSolid was founded in August 2018 by Shaun Tan, Wei Zhong, and Eugene Lim.
