Google’s New Mid-Range Pixel 3a And 3a XL Now Available In S’pore From S$659

Last month we wrote about how Google accidentally leaked the existence of two new Pixel phones, and it turns out that those leaks were true after all.

Earlier today, Google officially announced the Google Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a Plus, their new mid-range line that offers the flagship Pixel’s features and functionality at a very, very attractive price point.

Considering that the leak came from none other than Google themselves, it’s no surprise that the actual specs match up pretty accurately — both the 5.6-inch 3a and 6-inch 3a XL come equipped with a Snapdragon 670 processor, 4GB of RAM and a 3,000/3,700 mAH battery that can supposedly last up to 30 hours on a full charge.

One of the more impressive aspects of Google’s phones are their cameras, and thankfully the 3a and 3a XL are no different. The 12.2 megapixel rear camera is just as powerful as its more expensive counterparts, and comes with all the trademark features like Night Sight and Photo Sphere.

All this is pretty par for course with last year’s Pixel 3, So what’s new? Well, Google has placed an emphasis on Augmented Reality (AR), integrating it into everything from Google Maps (no more awkwardly turning around in circles to see which way you’re going) to exclusive Pokemon and Avengers content on Google Playground. If you ever wanted to take a photo with Thor, now you can.

Amongst all the features, however, probably the most attractive part about the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL is their price — coming in at S$659 and S$779 respectively, both phones are significantly cheaper than other mid-range offerings like the iPhone XR (S$1,229) and S10e (S$1,078).

And if you’re the kind of person who feels compelled to buy a new phone after reading one article, you actually can. Both phones are available from today onwards, and can be purchased online at the Google Store, or physically at Singtel, Challenger and Courts.

We’ve actually got our hands on a Pixel 3a XL, so look out for a more in-depth look in the coming weeks.
