Bye Bye, Bezels – Images Of Honor 9X Leaked Ahead Of Launch

When you think of Huawei smartphones, flagship models like the P30 and Mate 20 are usually the first things that come to mind.

If you’re not too keen on dropping upwards of $1,000 for a smartphone, however, you might want to check out the Honor sub-brand — part of the Chinese tech giant’s dual-brand strategy, their products strive to offer flagship specs at a much more affordable price point.

Honor’s latest 9X smartphone is slated to be launched in China on the 23rd of July, and while the brand themselves have released a teaser image of the phone, leaked renders from MySmartPrice give us a much better idea of what to expect next week.

The biggest takeaway here is that the 9X will sport a fully bezel-less display, and feature a motorised pop-up front camera in the vein of the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom and Samsung A80. We have our doubts about those, but that’s a discussion for another day.

Colour-wise, the 9X will come in at least two colours — classic black, along with a reflective purple that has an rather interesting X-shaped gradient burned into its design.

And considering Huawei’s expertise in smartphone photography, we’re counting on the 9X to deliver in that aspect as well. The standard 9X model will be equipped with a 48MP + 2MP dual camera setup, while the 9X Pro will rock a 48MP + 8MP + 2MP triple camera setup.

The Honor 9X is shaping up to be a very attractive mid-range phone, in every sense of the word. Considering that the 8X retails for an unbelievable S$298, this could very well be the budget phone to beat in 2019.
