Singapore ride-hailing firm Ryde announced today that it has partnered taxi company Trans-Cab to expand its driver fleet.
Over 3,000 taxis will join its fleet, making it the second largest driver fleet in Singapore with over 25,000 drivers.
With this expansion, Trans-Cab drivers can also soon access private-hire jobs as well as social carpooling jobs via Ryde’s mobile app from October 1.
As Trans-Cab drivers will be able to accept both RydeX and RydePOOL jobs, riders can expect faster booking and reduced wait times.
For the drivers, this collaboration allows them to earn more income with the addition of new job booking options on Ryde on top of their usual street-hail jobs.
According to Terence Zou, founder and CEO of Ryde, this move marks “another innovative step in ride-hailing” in which they facilitate Trans-Cab drivers to pool passengers.
