New S’pore Bus Drivers To Get $3,000 Bonus On Top Of 21 Days Leave And Free Bus, MRT Rides

Working as a bus driver is unfortunately not seen as an attractive career choice for many.

In Singapore, there is a serious shortage of bus drivers so transport firms like SBS Transit, SMRT and Go-Ahead, are upping the ante to entice people to take up the role.

SBS and SMRT are now offering new bus drivers up to S$3,500 monthly salary, on top of a S$3,000 joining bonus.

On the other hand, Go-Ahead is offering bus captains a monthly salary of $3,300.

SMRT offers other perks such as free work training, up to 21 days of annual leave, free bus and MRT rides as well as medical benefits.

Meanwhile, SBS offers free travel, health screening and flexible benefits, career progression to executive and managerial positions in Operations, Management and Training.

According to the job ads, applicants require a Singapore class 3 driver’s license and at least a year of driving experience to qualify for the role.

SBS and Go-Ahead did not specify any preference for nationalities, but SMRT strictly states that only Singaporeans can apply for the job.
