Singapore Polytechnic To Offer Diploma In AI And Analytics Starting April 2020

Singapore Polytechnic (SP) announced today (18 Oct) that they will be offering a full-time diploma programme in applied artificial intelligence (AI) and analytics from April next year.

SP will be taking up to 80 students in the first batch, and students will “learn to apply AI and big data to solve current challenges across industries such as finance, information technology and commerce”.

“SP aims to produce the next generation workforce that will be able to tap the latest technologies to take Singapore forward,” said SP principal and chief executive Soh Wai Wah.

Currently, SP only offers a specialist diploma in data science, which is catered to existing diploma and/or degree holders.

Graduates of both the upcoming diploma programme and specialist diploma programme will be able to receive exemptions for the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD)’s ModularMasters in Data Science programme.

According to SUTD’s website, a MM certificate programme is “designed with working professionals in mind, helping these learners acquire knowledge and skills essential for their workplace”.

Students in the programme would be able to accumulate credits from a series of “stackable” courses and eventually receive a certificate from the SUTD Academy.
