Scoot-ing To Success: Budget Airline Scoot Named “Best Low-Cost Carrier” For Second Time This Year

Low-cost carrier Scoot was once again crowned the “Best Low-Cost Carrier”, this time at Travel Weekly Asia Readers’ Choice Awards.

This was the first award received from Travel Weekly Asia and Scoot’s second accolade this year. Winners were determined via votes from Travel Weekly Asia readers and industry professionals across Asia.

Said Mr Lee Lik Hsin, “We are thrilled to have won back-to-back ‘Best Low-Cost Carrier’ awards and are thankful for our customers, travel partners, and staff, for their ongoing support.”

“We will continue to work hard to exceed our customers’ expectations,” he added.

The recent removal of payment processing fees globally on top of a transactional chatbot, which assists customers is part and parcel of Scoot’s initiative to provide their customers with a wholesome experience.

In addition to this, Scoot introduced the world’s first ‘The Yellow Converter’ which was held at Wisma Atria over the weekend.

This three-day programme allowed customers to convert any yellow-coloured item into travel vouchers or merchandise.

Customers were seen donning bright yellow outfits and yellow accessories in their bid to earn more ‘currency’ to pay for their Scoot flights.

Scoot has flown over 60 million guests to 67 destinations across 17 countries and territories to date.

Despite Scoot’s recent successes, they have indicated that they are not planning to slow down.

For one, they have introduced off-the-beaten-track destinations such as Laos and Trivandrum, and are planning the induction of a brand new A321neo fleet starting from the last quarter of 2020.
