Singapore-based virtual telco Circles.Life announced today its partnership with convenience store chain 7-Eleven to distribute post-paid SIM cards.
With this partnership, Circles.Life subscribers can pick up and self-active their SIM cards at 7-Eleven stores, giving them greater flexibility in their mobile services.
According to Circles.Life, the new self-activation service represents the “next step in digital innovation” as it shifts the digital-first onboarding experience to offline.
Those who opt for this pick-up service will get S$28 off their first bill. The plan comes with 100 minutes of talktime, 25 SMSes, free caller ID, and optional add-on boosts.
Pick Up And Activate Own SIM Card
Users can visit any participating 7-Eleven outlet to pick up their SIM card and get it verified at the counter. Alternatively, they can send a photo of their barcode to the Circles.Life WhatsApp number for verification.
Upon verification, the subscriber will get the SIM card from the cashier and proceed to digitally register it via the Circles.Life app.
Registration takes only three steps, and there is no need for them to be physically present for ID verification.
Instead, verification is done automatically as users submit their IDs or selfies online.
“There is a strong inertia when it comes to switching telcos. Our partnership with 7-Eleven and the convenience of self-activation (helps to) simplify the switching process,” said Delbert Ty, head of marketing for Circles.Life.
Lilienne Chong, merchandising director for 7-Eleven adds that this partnership delivers “greater convenience to customers by providing them with more touchpoints to purchase post-paid SIM cards.”
The self-collect service is currently rolled out across 20 7-Eleven outlets in Singapore, but will expand across “more outlets in the weeks to come”.
