We probably spend most of our time on Facebook nowadays. And I’m assuming that most of you are familiar with Facebook Pages, the one where you can “like” and receive updates from brands and companies you love.
Other than just posting and sharing their updates with you, Facebook pages also allow brand owners to create various engagement gimmicks to entertain their followers and fans. One of them is of course, through Facebook games.
When we visited Singapore based Circus Social last week, the team shared with us some smart Facebook games created by the team for their clients, and wished we had played it when they were active:
1. National Environment Agency – Circus Social built a simple interactive game for NEA to encourage Singaporeans to keep Singapore clean. Users can compete with each other to clean various parks, hawker centres and HDB void decks to earn points. There are over 18 different skill levels you can win and it works across both web and mobile. Very very interesting.
2. SGX – To introduce investing to its followers, a simple stock game was created on their Facebook page. There’s a twist to the game too: you have to give away stocks to your friends in order to grow your portfolio. Of course, the user with the biggest portfolio gets to win amazing prizes. The game also leverages on real time stock price updates, allowing followers to get a sense of the stock market within a safe environment.
3. Probably saving the best for last, the National Security Coordination Secretariat (NSCS), had their Facebook page integrated with a simple game which asks you to spot terror threats. Users are invited to spot terrorism threats in 4 situations, and the user with the fastest timing wins a prize each week.
Of course, the games are no longer active now. These custom made games are specifically crafted for their clients, which includes Coca Cola, KFC, Holiday Inn, Expedia, SMU, AIA, among others. The Circus Social team told Vulcan Post that they are also working on a simple DIY solution for Facebook page owners, which allows you to simply create apps for your Facebook page. Apps such as a simple feedback form come only as low as $10 per month, and you can opt for options such as photo contest apps, quiz or even sweepstakes.
If you are a managing, these plug and play apps let you create and manage your own Facebook apps and campaigns without having to concern yourselves with technical issues such as coding and hosting.
