Buying Attraction Passes At The Door Can Be Expensive – Here’s How To Get Them Much Cheaper

Flights, check.

Accommodation, check.

After checking off the two most important expenses of any trip, the next step that goes into preparing for a holiday typically involves purchasing tickets for attractions.

Perhaps it’s because we’re mostly a digital-first generation, but for a large majority, purchasing attraction tickets at the door is no longer a norm.

One of the most obvious reasons to book attraction tickets in advance is being guaranteed entry to an attraction on a particular day.

Another reason is that there are third party sites that sell tickets to these attractions at a discount.

One of these sites is Changi Recommends, which is best known for its affordable Changi Wifi router rental service.

Beyond that, Changi Recommends actually wants to be a one-stop platform where travellers can get their travel insurance, book their accommodation, and even change money!

For this article, however, let’s just do a quick comparison between the prices of tickets from the official websites of four popular attractions versus those from the Changi Recommends website and see if it deserves to be the next website you should bookmark.

Everland

Everland is South Korea’s largest amusement park, and has a mix of rides and attractions that will thrill visitors of all ages.

Animal lovers in particular will love Everland’s Zootopia zone, which features animal shows and even a safari ride!

For roller coaster junkies, get your adrenaline rush from the T-Express, South Korea’s first wooden roller coaster and one of the highest-rated roller coasters in the world!

A quick check on Everland’s official website reveals that a 1-day ticket costs S$63.90 (adult) and S$50.21 (child) each.

This is where Changi Recommends shines.

At just S$36.15 per pax (regardless of age), you can get a ticket to Everland on Changi Recommends at almost half the price of one ticket on its official site!

Universal Studios Hollywood

Universal Studios Singapore may just be a monorail ride away, but there’s no denying that Universal Studios Hollywood has something we all dream of visiting one day – The Wizarding World of Harry Potter!

Whether or not you’re a ‘Potterhead’ (aka a Harry Potter fan), The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is sure to charm – pun intended – you, even if you didn’t grow up with the books.

With rides, shops, and spots where you can ‘cast spells’ with a wand, a truly magical experience awaits visitors at Universal Studios Hollywood!

If you’re confused by the colours and different prices, just know that the orange and blue boxes indicate peak periods, which also translate to more expensive tickets.

With that in mind, admission on a non-peak day would cost S$148.19, while admission on peak periods would be either S$154.99 or S$161.79 per pax.

Admittedly, the ticket price for peak periods aren’t very competitive on Changi Recommends, but the ticket price during the ‘low’/off-peak season is what you’ll want to take advantage of, as you’ll get to save around S$13!

Warner Bros. Movie Gold Coast

Heading south to Australia, Warner Bros. Movie World in Gold Coast is where all your favourite movie and comic book characters come to life.

Be prepared to rub shoulders with superheroes like Batman and Wonder Woman or ‘super’ villains like the Joker from the DC Universe, and take on the DC Rivals Hypercoaster, the tallest and fastest HyperCoaster in the Southern Hemisphere!

A quick check on Warner Bros. Movie World’s official website shows a S$91.77 price tag on an adult ticket, and a S$82.50 price tag on a ticket for a child.

With a price difference of over S$40, Changi Recommends is no doubt the place you’d want to get your tickets to Warner Bros. Movie World at.

Tokyo Disneyland/DisneySea

Perfect for those with kids or who are still kids at heart, Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea are popular choices for travellers to Japan.

Like their names suggest, while Tokyo Disneyland caters to visitors who prefer the ‘classic’ Disneyland experience (similar to other Disneylands around the world), DisneySea is our recommendation for Disney fans who want something a little different.

Designed around a nautical theme, DisneySea is exclusive to Japan and appeals to a more mature crowd with thrilling rides like the Tower of Terror, Indiana Jones’ Adventure, and Journey To The Centre Of The Earth.

A quick check on the Tokyo Disney Resorts site reveals that a 1-day passport costs S$93.87 (adult), S$81.35 (junior), and S$61.33 (child) each.

While the price listed on Changi Recommends isn’t that big of a discount, getting your tickets off Changi Recommends doesn’t just guarantee you entry on the day itself (Tokyo Disney Resort is notoriously popular among tourists and locals), you’ll also stand to benefit from the promo codes that are being dished out for the holiday season!

‘Tis The Season For Promo Codes

Christmas is the season of giving, and Changi Recommends has definitely gotten in the mood for that with attractive promo codes that it has come up with for the holiday period!

Use the promo code ‘GTREAT40‘ for S$40 off a minimum spend of S$280, or ‘GTREAT80‘ for S$80 off a minimum spend of S$500!

To put things in perspective, let’s say you’re booking tickets for 2 adults and 2 kids for Nami Island – this means that instead of paying S$378, you’ll only need to fork out S$338! However, do note that these promo codes are not applicable for Disney/Universal attractions.

The last thing you want while on holiday is worrying about unforeseen circumstances like lost baggage or a missed flight, so don’t forget to get some travel insurance before you fly.

HyfeAssure is Changi Recommends’ answer to travel insurance, and beyond offering very decent coverage at an affordable price, you can also use promo code ‘ONECRHYFE19‘ to get a whopping 60% off any of their plans!

Holiday season is upon us, so why not check out Changi Recommends for your next trip out of Singapore?
