Tech giant Twitter announced today (Feb 13) that it is building an engineering centre in Singapore as part of its Asia Pacific (APAC) expansion plans.

The new centre will be based in the company’s APAC headquarters at the Central Business District (CBD).

According to Twitter, the engineering centre will help strengthen its engineering capabilities as well as improve service availability and reliability for Twitter users worldwide.

To support this growth plan, Twitter said it is looking to hire 65 “technical talents” in Singapore over the next few years. The available roles will span across product engineering, software engineering, data engineering and data science.

“Asia Pacific has always been a growth engine for our company and this new engineering centre is a strategic investment that demonstrates our commitment to this important region,” said Maya Hari, Vice President of Asia Pacific at Twitter.

“We are thrilled to bring some of the best, cutting-edge engineering jobs for a global Internet platform to Singapore, from product development to data science to machine learning, and this is truly an amazing time to join our purpose-driven company to serve the public conversation across the world.”
