Gojek Shows Support To S’pore Healthcare Workers With GoHeroes: $10 Ride Vouchers For 3 Mths

In light of the COVID-19 virus outbreak, Gojek announced today (Feb 18) that it has launched a new initiative called ‘GoHeroes’ to support “frontline heroes,” namely healthcare workers and medical professionals.

Gojek has partnered with all public acute hospitals in Singapore to offer ride vouchers worth S$10 each, which they can distribute to their staff over the next three months.

Gojek driver-partners have pledged their support to this initiative and ensure that healthcare workers can continue to travel to and from their workplaces safely and comfortably.

“We are pleased to announce the launch of GoHeroes, a Gojek initiative to support healthcare workers, everyday heroes who are on the frontlines keeping Singapore well and safe,” said Lien Choong Luen, general manager of Gojek Singapore.

“We will recognise and reward driver-partners who go above and beyond in their efforts, to thank them for their dedication in being frontline heroes themselves, and keeping the nation on the move,” he added.

Gojek will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and work with authorities to explore more ways to support frontline heroes during this period.

Prior to this, Gojek announced last week (Feb 13) that it has matched the government’s commitment to provide income support for drivers, such that Gojek driver-partners can receive a relief of S$20 daily (S$10 from the government and S$10 from Gojek).

This marks a one-for-one matching of the government’s contribution, which can hopefully provide some relief to private-hire drivers affected by the situation.

In addition, it also has an extensive support package for quarantined drivers.

Should drivers be served a quarantine order related to COVID-19, Gojek driver-partners can continue to enjoy Prolonged Medical Leave insurance coverage of up to about S$1,000 for a 14-day quarantine period, or more if they are quarantined for more than 14 days.

Quarantined driver-partners on GoFleet (their vehicle rental programme) will also have their vehicle rental waived on top of a one-off S$100 allowance.
