GOMO Steps Up With 50GB For $30 Plan, But Why Are Its Posts On Singtel’s Social Media Gone?

[Update: 25 June 2020]

Secret’s out! GOMO is not leaving Singtel, but moving out to its own social media platforms. Despite the shift, they are still a part of Singtel.

Check out their Instagram and Facebook pages, and be sure to follow them for more ‘KIDulting’ content and join their Housewarming Party Contest that ends on 1 July, 12pm.

Editorial Note: GOMO Go Where?

Vulcan Post recently received a tip-off about this series of Instagram Story posted via Singtel’s account.

The message within the Stories was so ambiguous that we have no definitive idea on what it actually meant, but figured that it is essentially a goodbye message — but what exactly is Singtel saying goodbye to?

After lurking on and scrutinising Singtel’s Instagram page for a few days, we noticed this discrepancy:

We realised that GOMO-related posts on Singtel’s Instagram pages have been quietly disappearing since June 20.

We observed this same trend happening on Singtel’s Facebook page too — all of GOMO’s posts are now gone.

Despite combing through Singtel’s social media pages, we couldn’t find any further hints as to why GOMO’s posts are suddenly gone.

Could Singtel’s cryptic Instagram story possibly hint at a farewell for GOMO? But why?

Otherwise, could GOMO simply be planning for a relaunch? Afterall, many music artists like Taylor SwiftMiley Cyrus and Zayn Malik have deleted their Instagram posts before dropping a new album.

Purging your Instagram account is apparently a form of publicity stunt to garner attention as you unveil your new project.

On that note, this possible relaunch could mean a rebranding too, so GOMO is probably erasing all existing content to start off on a clean slate.

Regardless, GOMO has only been around for about a year, so it’s unlikely that they are calling it quits so soon. Despite being a fairly new player, GOMO has moved in full steam to capture the market share in Singapore.

Moreover, Singtel — the oldest telco in Singapore — has invested heavily in transforming their business towards digitalisation, with GOMO as the right step forward.

GOMO’s New 50GB For $30 Pop-Up Plan

GOMO by Singtel has been touted as having one of the best no-contract, SIM-only mobile plans in Singapore.

Its base plan of 20GB for $20 (which includes 200 free SMSes, 200 minutes of talktime, free incoming calls and free caller ID) is undoubtedly a very value-for-money plan.

Moreover, GOMO subscribers enjoy the same mobile surfing speeds and network coverage as Singtel customers, which basically means that they can surf on Singapore’s fastest and widest network.

However, if 20GB of data is not enough for you, then good news: GOMO by Singtel is now offering a 50GB for $30 pop-up plan as part of its Father’s Day promotion.

This is a worthwhile deal for not only heavy data users. Since we’ll be getting out more often following Phase 2 of the circuit breaker reopening, our mobile usage will definitely increase.

The 50GB data will definitely come in handy, and we no longer need to worry about bursting our mobile data limit and paying for excess charges.

Besides upsizing the data for an additional $10 only, GOMO by Singtel is also throwing in 500 free SMSes, 500 minutes of talktime, as well as free incoming calls and caller ID.

However, do note that this offer is only available for a limited time. While it’s only valid until 30 June, you can enjoy 50GB for $30 forever (as long as you are on GOMO) when you key in promo code ‘BINGE50’ during checkout.

To sweeten the deal, GOMO by Singtel is also offering unlimited data-free messaging on WhatsApp for its users until 7 July. This means that data used for all text, images, videos and voice messages on WhatsApp (excluding video and voice calls) will be automatically waived during this period.

This is GOMO’s way of helping its users to stay connected with their loved ones as we gradually ease into Phase 2.

You’d also be happy to note that there are no additional registration fees, and you can enjoy free same-day SIM card delivery to your doorstep (for sign-ups before 10.30am).

Keen to join the GOMO fam? Their 50GB for $30 pop-up plan is clearly too good to miss out, so be sure to sign up for the plan here before the end of this month. Once you’ve signed up, don’t forget to spread the word to your family and friends so you can earn referral benefits as a reward!
