Over the course of three days since PM Lee Hsien Loong called for an election, the political parties have announced their line-up of candidates ahead of Nomination Day on June 30.
People’s Action Party has unveiled a total of 26 candidates, while opposition parties Workers’ Party and Progress Singapore Party have revealed twenty-one and 24 candidates respectively.
We take a look at the confirmed political parties and candidates that will be contesting in GE 2020:
People’s Action Party
The PAP unveiled all of its 26 new candidates over the span of three days in a total of 6 batches. The candidates come from various sectors, ranging from the business sector to the social sector to the public service sector.

Which GRCs Would They Be Contesting For?
WP has confirmed that it will be contesting in Sengkang GRC, Marine Parade GRC, East Coast GRC and Aljunied GRC. Sengkang GRC and Aljunied GRC have been known to be WP’s stomping grounds.
They are also contesting in Hougang and Punggol West SMCs.
On the other hand, PSP is expected to contest at West Coast Group GRC, Nee Soon GRC, Chua Chu Kang GRC, Tanjong Pagar GRC, Hong Kah North SMC, Marymount SMC, Kebun Baru SMC and Pioneer SMC.
