Entertainment venues have been pivoting quickly and furiously due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Education Minister Lawrence Wong, who co-chairs the governmental task force tackling Covid-19, recently announced that the government may be releasing plans to take Singapore through Phase 3 of reopening the economy.
While cinemas will see an increase in capacity, it might not be enough to keep Golden Village (GV) afloat.
To overcome this, the cinema exhibitor announced today (14 October) its latest step in its innovation journey: Z.E.S.T. @ Gold Class, which is a first-of-its-kind work-from-lounge concept.
A New Work-From-Lounge Concept
If you are bored of working from home, you can now choose to work from a cinema lounge instead.
According to Golden Village, Z.E.S.T stands for Zen, Entertainment, Space, Taste and is exclusive available at Suntec City Gold Class.
This new concept allows patrons to enjoy a conducive space to work or study in without the long-term commitment required by conventional co-working spaces, or the time limitations that are often in place at local cafes.
Besides having a conducive space to work in, Z.E.S.T patrons can also recharge themselves with Golden Village’s signature Zen Zone programme.
Perks of the programme include enjoying a quick power nap on Gold Class’ recliners between 12pm and 1:30pm, or 2pm and 3:30pm.
Patrons will also be given free popcorn, a complimentary cup of tea or coffee, as well as movie discount vouchers.
From October 12 to 31, a six-hour access to Z.E.S.T will be priced at only S$15 (usual price is at S$25).
Meanwhile, access to both the co-working space and Zen Zone will set patrons back by S$20 (usual price is at S$35).
GV Is More Than A Movie Theatre
Other recent innovations by GV include the M Pass, which is a value-for-money movie pass for patrons to catch recent titles.
It is also selling exclusive fabric masks to keep up with the times.
According to GV, the theatre has had to think outside the box to continually appeal to patrons and create new revenue streams.
“As a business, we are continually looking at new and innovative ways to remain relevant to our customers and demonstrate our ability to adapt to new realities,” said Clara Cheo, CEO of Golden Village Multiplex.
“Z.E.S.T @ Gold Class is the latest step of our journey as we remain dedicated to providing our customers with more than a movie.”
