Apple Unveils New AirPods Max Wireless Headphones – Will Retail In S’pore Soon For S$849

Apple fans, rejoice.

Just yesterday (December 9), Apple announced the launch of the latest addition to its line of AirPods products — the AirPods Max.

The wireless headphones encompass the AirPods technology with an over-ear design and high-fidelity (often shortened to hi-fi or hifi) sound.

AirPods Max combines a custom acoustic design, H1 chips, and advanced software to power computational audio.

Key features include Adaptive EQ, Active Noise Cancellation, Transparency mode, and spatial audio.

What To Expect From The AirPods Max

The AirPods Max’s performance is expected to surpass that of the AirPods Pro headphones.

The former features a 40-mm dynamic driver that provides rich, deep bass, accurate mid-ranges, and crisp, clean high-frequency extension so every note can be heard.

Equipped with a H1 chip in each ear cup, a custom acoustic design, and advanced software, AirPods Max use computational audio for the highest quality listening experience possible.

Its Adaptive EQ feature adjusts the sound to the fit and seal of the ear cushions.

It does so by measuring the sound signal delivered to a user and adjusting the low and mid-frequencies in real time.

Active Noise Cancellation allows users to focus on whatever they are doing, without being distracted by external noises.

In Transparency Mode, users can listen to music while being aware of the environment around them at the same time. This is possible because everything, including a user’s own voice, sounds natural while audio plays.

Like its counterparts, AirPods Max automatically detect when they are on a user’s head using optical and position sensors.

When the user lifts one ear cup or remove the AirPods Max, the audio will pause.

Its Smart Case helps to conserve the device’s battery when not in use.

Other notable features include automatic switching that allows users to seamlessly move sound between iPhone, iPad, and Mac, Siri capabilities and audio sharing that allows sharing of an audio stream between two devices.

The headphones are available in five colours: space grey, silver, sky blue, green, and pink.
