S’pore digital telco Circles.Life to hire over 60 tech roles by Oct 2022 to fuel expansion

Asia’s first fully digital telco, Circles.Life, announced today (October 5) that it is ramping up local tech recruitment to gear up for international growth post-Covid.

The Singapore-based firm currently has a global team that comprises over 450 staff in Singapore, Taiwan, Australia, Indonesia, Japan and South Asia.

According to Circles.Life, staff numbers in its Singapore office have grown two-fold since 2019 to about 250 employees. It is now looking to boost local headcount by at least another 25 per cent (about 60 staff) over the next 12 months.

This includes key hires for tech and “tech-lite” roles such as software engineers, product managers, and digital marketers across new and existing business lines.

As part of its efforts to expand its pool of tech and innovation talent, Circles.Life has also appointed Fortune 500 tech veteran Stephanie Nash as its new Chief People Officer (CPO).

In her role as CPO, Nash is set to steer Circles.Life’s next-level global talent and culture strategy so the company can achieve its ambitious growth targets.

She brings over two decades of global HR experience in Fortune 500 companies such as Microsoft, BHP and Allergan. She also oversaw the early stages of RedMart’s growth through to its multimillion-dollar acquisition by Lazada-Alibaba, and helped shape the Future of Work narrative through her accomplishments in the human capital space with ChapmanCG and Thrive HR Exchange.

Nash is the latest high-profile global leader to join Circles.Life’s management team in Singapore.

Other recent additions include Silicon Valley veteran Dhanush Hetti, ex-Chief Technology Officer at Venmo/PayPal (also named Top 15 Global FinTech CTO by The Financial Technology Report in 2019), and Mak Chee Kiong, ex-Chief Financial Officer at Singtel Group Digital Life.

According to Circles.Life, this tech hiring spree will allow the company to build upon the success of its landmark partnership in Japan with one of the world’s largest telcos, which recently launched a new digital telco brand running on the Circles X OS .

“As a homegrown Singapore startup, we believe in developing together with the local tech community as we embark on this phase of aggressive expansion into global markets and new business verticals,” said Adeel Najam, co-founder of Circles.Life.

“We see incredible potential to build Circles.Life into the next made-in-Singapore global tech brand, and want to quickly scale up our capabilities to bring our world-class digital telco tech and innovation to many other markets.”
