As the holy month of Ramadan draws to a close, muslims will be celebrating Eid, a time of joy and prosperity. Now that the borders have been opened, people are expected to balik kampung too during this festive season.

On Hari Raya, we have a way of asking for forgiveness to cleanse ourselves of grudges against one another. Sending meaningful gifts is one way to express your sincere apology or appreciation to your loved ones.

To me, I believe there are no such things as gifts that are too big nor too small, what matters most is the thoughtfulness and the love that goes into giving them.

Here are seven online brands from which you can get last-minute gifts for almost everyone on your list, whether it’s for loved ones, close friends, or your colleagues.

1. BloomThis

BloomThis is no stranger to Vulcan Post, and we’ve covered their story at various stages over the years. The business began by selling flowers to its online subscribers, but has since expanded to include other products such as seasonal hampers and gifts.

The brand prides itself on its customer-centric approach, so you can expect to be treated well with your specific gift requests.

The Raya collection also includes flowers, primarily radiant orchids with up to five stalks and golden ornaments, which symbolise a happy life and everlasting beauty.

Varieties: Chocolates, dates, cookies, cooking pastes, instant coffee, and more.

Price: Starts from RM119.

Customisation: Free standard Raya card or top up RM12.90 for a designer card (both come with custom 3R photo option).

2. Delectable

Delectable is known for its sweet and savoury pastries, including curry puffs, puff pastry sausage rolls, and seven other flavours.

For an additional RM50, you can add a balloon bouquet to your order. However, note that the brand states the balloons will only last for 8 hours, so you’ll need to plan your delivery meticulously.

To provide you with more control, the Raya Hamper (RM150) allows you to select the type of cookies you want. Almond, butter buttons, sesame freckles, double chocolate, cappuccino, rainbow, and cereal crunch are among the flavours available.

Varieties: Delectable cookies, signature pineapple tarts, curry puffs, popiah otak-otak, fruit tartlets, kek lapis, and more.

Price: Starts from RM45.

Customisation: Able to pick the type of cookies. Includes the option to add balloons and flowers to your order (RM50).

Shipping Details: Minimum one day notice in advance within KL, PJ, and other selected areas within Klang Valley. Pickup available at The Gardens Mall and Glasshouse at Seputeh.

Delivery Fee: Free delivery for purchases above RM100.

3. Joyous

Joyous caught my eye while scrolling through my Instagram stories, and its aesthetics drew me in. I personally think the product packaging is really well presented, plus it’s reusable.

While the price may appear to be on the higher side, it may be worth the expense for some. It comes with a personalised engraving that makes the gift all the more thoughtful.

Varieties: Turkish nougats, scented candle, Beryl’s almond milk chocolate, reusable wooden box, dried kiwi, green beans and more.

Price: Starts from RM108.

Customisation: Free name and candle engraving.

Shipping Details: Same-day delivery available within the Klang Valley area by Lalamove.

Delivery Fee: Free delivery for three sets and above within KL, extra charges to other areas.

Where to buy: Instagram.

4. Macarons by Madeleine

Macarons can be a simple but cute gift, where the product speaks for itself without overly fancy packagin. They’re a gift that’s also pleasing to the eye and immensely Instagrammable.

The brand is founded by Madeleine, who we’ve featured in the past. She sells hand-painted macarons that can typically be customised to meet the needs of customers, and delivers to the Klang Valley’s central regions.

This year, there are two types of packaging you can get for Raya. The smallest (RM15) comes in three-piece sets, while the largest (RM65) comes in nine-piece sets with a wish card and a ribbon-tied box.

Varieties: The available flavours are Nutella Ganache, Choco Mint, and Gula Melaka.

Price: Starts from RM15.

Customisation: Fixed designs for the Raya sets.

Shipping Details: Next-day delivery within selected areas in KL and Selangor.

Delivery Fee: RM11 charge for delivery by car.
