Airbnb has certainly revolutionised the way people stay over on vacations. No longer do we have to subscribe to the conventional idea of a hotel or hostel when visiting a new place. The company is essentially a platform where locals can open their homes to guests for a duration of time, and the concept has been a world of convenience for travellers everywhere.

While the idea of couchsurfing has been around for a fairly long time, Airbnb hosts generally rent out their home as a place of stay, instead of just the couch alone. It is becoming increasingly popular and now one popular Malaysian blogger has jumped on board as well.

Audrey Ooi, also known as FourFeetNine, is a woman who is so much more than her under-five-foot frame. She’s also a mom of two and a doting wife to Timothy Tiah, CEO and founder of Nuffnang. Together the power family is opening up their beautiful abode to the public to rent, and the place is truly nothing short of stunning.

Their 4-bedroom colonial style townhouse is located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur and it is a convenient 5-minute drive away from Publika. The home is able to accommodate up to 8 guests, and the well-known Malaysian blogger is providing 4 bedrooms with 5 beds to her guests.

The rules to staying at the home is that no shoes are allowed indoors, no pets are allowed, smoking is prohibited, there will be no parties and visitors allowed, and no loud noises are permitted after 10pm. This is fair, considering that the couple are being pretty hospitable to their guests.

Basic toiletries such as shampoo and toothpaste, as well as towels are provided to ensure that the stay is a comfortable one. However, guests are to provide their own personal toiletries (toothbrushes, skincare, etc.) as necessary. Audrey stated on her Airbnb posting, “Guests are responsible to keep the apartment clean, launder the bedding, towels etc, themselves. Irrespective of stay duration, the apartment is not serviced regularly—only at the start and end of the letting.”

If you are looking to get to know the family, this is the perfect chance to as well, for you would be pleased to know that Audrey also says that she is always available if you need any help. All you need to do is to let her know if you need anything. Consider it akin to staying at a friends’ place while on vacation, except that your hosts also happen to be an influential couple.

A stay at the family’s home will set you back RM450 per night but that is a pretty generous amount for the ambiance in the house. Alternatively, staying for a week would cost RM2,855 and a months’ stay would be RM7,933. By the looks of the comments Audrey has already received on social media upon posting her home pictures, it certainly won’t be soon before long, when the place would be fully booked.
