Mac users would be going Jamoo! (Simlish for “oh my god”) when they hear this news. EA Games has confirmed through a tweet that a Mac version of the game will be coming in February!
While t’s predecessor, The Sims 3, was launched simultaneously on PC and Mac, EA Games had initially stated that The Sims 4 will be focused on Windows and had no plans to create a Mac version. The game was released on PC last September, and was met with amazing reviews. With many new features in this wildly popular game such as expanded emotions, more options for character customization, and multitasking, its no wonder that Mac users have been dying to try this new game out.
To make things better, EA Games mentioned that current Windows PC players who already own The Sims 4 could download the Mac version for free. According to Kotaku, the Mac version will be the same price as the PC version at $19.99.
While waiting for the announcement of the Mac version’s release date, PC gamers are getting new content. The Sims 4 Outdoor Retreat was released on January 14 with a brand new destination where your Sims characters can enjoy unique outdoor activities such as take a hike, go camping, and even collect plants for natural remedies.
The Sims also followed up its Twitter post by answering a few player questions regarding The Sims 4 release.
@gelbejacke Yep! You will be able to download the Mac version if you already purchased it for PC. 🙂
