Singaporean fans of Candy Crush Saga now have something more to cheer about!
As first reported by Tech in Asia, the WeChat version of the game was recently launched on Android. Social elements of the game include the ability for gamers to compare scores and send virtual gifts. Plans to feature Candy Crush Saga in WeChat’s iOS version are in the pipeline as well. With this, you’ll be seeing more candy-filled screens with the ever popular accompanying tune soon.
However, the current WeChat Candy Crush Saga is only available on AppGem, Tencent’s app store, and requires an invitation code. Without this code, progressing into the game would be somewhat impossible. According to Tech in Asia, Fruit Ninja could be the next game to launch on WeChat.
With over 71 million fans on its Facebook page, Candy Crush is truly a saga. Its popularity is due to the fact that anyone and everyone can play the game. Even squirrels go nuts about it!
Perhaps what makes the game hard to resist and exploded in popularity among players is its simple yet attractive and interactive game design. Players also get to advance to different levels and realms as they work their way up. On top of the normal level, Candy Crush sneakily also feature a Dreamworld mode where players can play with Odus the Owl.
As reported by The Guardian, the game was so popular that it reached a milestone of 500 million installations. And we all know the Candy Crush phenomenon has swept across our island. Remember this picture from Zinkie Aw’s photo series on the Candy Crush phenomenon in Singapore?
This WeChat version of Candy Crush Saga might just be a hit in Singapore. After all, candy, as we know it, is addictive.
