A Tech Event With a Cause

The event, however, won’t just be about showcasing the latest in smartphones, tablets, laptops and other gadgets. It will also be an event to gather more financial and in kind support for the survivors of the Typhoon Haiyan (locally known as Yolanda), said to be the biggest storm to hit this side of the world.

If you are attending the event, it will be helpful if you can also bring donations for the victims. Yahoo! said in an article that they will make sure that your donations will definitely go to the survivors, and not in the wrong hands.

Last year, Yahoo’s Technostorm event was organized at the Trinoma Mall’s Activity Center in Quezon City. It was attended by international brands with a local presence, particularly Microsoft, Samsung, and LG. Local tech companies such as Smart Telecom and Globe also had a strong presence during the event.  Some of the brands who attended the even also gave talk. These include Microsoft, Sony, Lazada Philippines and McCann World Group. One the important talks was from Globe, who discussed how to stay safe everytime we are online.

Yahoo launched their Technostorm website last year in the Philippines to become the brand’s content hub for the latest in technology here and abroad.
