This Is How You Undo Twitter’s New Change Of “Heart” — Sort Of

If you’re a Twitter user, you would have realised that Twitter has replaced their ‘favourite’ star with little red hearts instead. The change divided Twitter fans, delighting some while frustrating others. I mean, liking a tweet? How mainstream.

However, Twitter has shared in a blogpost that people responded positively to the change in their tests, prompting them to stick with it. Hearts, for some reason, are more universally acknowledged and can mean many more things than stars, and the changing of the term from “favourite” to “like” demystified the glorified thumbs up in the Twitterverse.

“We are changing our star icon for favorites to a heart and we’ll be calling them likes. We want to make Twitter easier and more rewarding to use, and we know that at times the star could be confusing, especially to newcomers. You might like a lot of things, but not everything can be your favorite.”

If you feel that you can’t deal with the change, though, there are solutions. The Verge has shared that there is a Google Chrome extension that you can download that will superficially mask the hearts to look like the stars we’re much more familiar with. Called Fav Forever, the process of getting the stars back pretty much happens in under a minute as long as you have a decent Internet connection. Just download the extension, and open up Twitter in your Chrome browser.

For those who don’t use Chrome, then I’m sorry.

It’s like the change never happened!

This extension is great for those who have an issue with change, but it’s safe to say that this extension is simply a way to delude yourself. But it won’t last forever, and before you know it, you’ll be ‘liking’ tweets as well.
