EA Origin Access, the Netflix for gamers has officially arrived in Malaysia. EA Origin Access is a monthly subscription based membership whereby gamers have access to The Vault, a curated (and growing) collection of full version PC games, for SGD6.45 (RM19) a month.
Currently there are 15 game titles available in The Vault, including popular titles such as some Battlefield 3 and 4, FIFA 15, SimCity, The Sims 3 Starter Pack, Dead Space 2 and 3, Dragon Age: Inquisition, Need for Speed Rivals, and Plants vs Zombies Garden Warfare.
Other than The Vault, members will also get access to brand new EA Games with Play First Trials where they will be able to play the actual game, not the demo, before they’re released. Should the gamer decide to purchase the game, all recorded stats and progress will be carried over. Currently there are only two games listed in the Play First Trials, Unravel and Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2.
Do note, however, that an active Internet connection is necessary for Play First Trials. Games in The Vault, on the other hand, can be accessed offline, but the gamer will have to periodically connect to Origin to verify the membership. Also, Origin Access is only available on PC (sorry, Mac users).
Additionally, as a EA Origin Access subscriber, gamers will be entitled to a 10% discount on all Origin purchases, this applies to new releases, third-party games, and even Origin sales and promotions. This discount is automatic, as long as the purchase is done via Origin.
The subscription can be cancelled anytime but if you were to rejoin, your previous games will still be there in your account so all those gaming hours won’t go to waste. Plus, more games will be added over time, so should you unsubscribe, you can choose to resubscribe when the games that you’re interested in are listed.
