Maxis, one of the main telcos in Malaysia, has just announced that it is offering a new MaxisOne data plan, which comes with even more data for Malaysian customers.
According to the press release, over a million of Maxis’ existing customers have been automatically upgraded to higher data quotas at no extra charges. As a result, customers on the MOP98 will now receive 5 times more data than their previous allocation. Customers on the higher value plans such as the MOP188 will receive extra 13GB in data quota every month.
In the recently held press conference, CEO Morten Lundal share that this is the largest auto-upgrade ever done by Maxis and in Malaysia.
“Unlike our competitors, we are not just giving short term offers or more data to only new customers. We are automatically and permanently upgrading for free all our MaxisONE Plan customers, in which we are proud to have passed one million this week.”
Here’s the new upgraded plan:
- MaxisONE 98 (RM98 per month): Upgraded from 1GB to 5GB
- MaxisONE 128 (RM128 per month): Upgraded from 3GB to 10GB
- MaxisONE 158 (RM158 per month): Upgraded from 5GB t0 15GB
- MaxisONE 188 (RM188per month): Upgraded from 7GB to: 20GB
For existing customers, you don’t have to do anything, and you should have received an SMS notification on the automatic plan upgrade, which looks like this:
There are also several announcements from Maxis, which is ongoing now at the press conference. At the event, Maxis shared that these data plan upgrades have been in the works for several months. And due to recent events, the data plan free upgrade announcement was accelerated.
Other than the free data plan upgrade, there were also other new innovative features which were announced, most notably, the MaxisONE World, where local data can be brought for roaming overseas.
