Apple Launches Idiot-Proof ‘Clips’ To Help Noobs Create Flawless Videos

Content on social media is clearly moving towards favouring the video format, and with smartphones like the Apple iPhone 7 Plus, you can take high resolution videos in 4K.

But the problem with all this footage is that for the average person, editing it can be a pain in the butt since not everyone is a Youtuber.

Even with free apps, they may not offer the full set of features that you require unless you purchase the full version, and you will also have to contend with having unsightly watermarks.

Apple Releases Clips For Your Video Editing Needs

For iOS users, Apple is helping you out by releasing a new free app called Clips just for creating videos.

Clips was actually announced along with the (PRODUCT)RED iPhone 7, but it is only today that Apple made it available in the App Store.

This all-new app is all about ease of use and requires no previous video editing knowledge, but still brings the element of fun, one that is becoming an increasingly common sight among social media apps.

The interface is very straightforward, and each icon is more or less explanatory, with on-screen prompts appearing to guide you as the video creation process progresses.

We tried it out ourselves, and sure enough, the process is as easy as described. It makes creating a social media video into an easy piece together puzzle.

You have the option to either use existing photos and videos already in your Library or just take new ones on the spot.

Add filters, stickers, and captions all in the same screen.

Add as many scenes as you like in quick succession, in varied filters and styles into a single timeline.

Once you are done, you can export to a social media app of your choice and it will also be saved into your library at the top bar of the app.

The best thing about the app too is that if you happen to forget to add a scene in or see a typo, you can go back to the working timeline and make the necessary edits.

If you prefer to share the video with your contacts over iMessage, the app can actually use facial recognition to recognise faces in the video and bringing them up when sharing.

This app will most certainly be a godsend to those of us who don’t have the time and skill to use desktop programs like Final Cut Pro, or even iMovie.

Clips is available right now for iOS devices in the App Store.
