With the launch of the iPad Pro, creative professionals finally have a powerful and mobile tool in which they can continue their work anywhere without being totally reliant on a desktop computer or laptop.

However that power comes at a price, a price that mere mortals might not be willing to stomach for features that they’ll only use when they feel like being a Picasso once every six months.

That changes today.

This New iPad Has Apple Pencil Support

At their Chicago keynote held at Lane Technical College Prep High School, Apple unveiled a new and improved iPad for the masses.

Sure, the morning was filled with lots of education focused products, apps, and curriculums, but let’s not forget, this new iPad can be used by anybody.

And the biggest draw of this new iPad is its support for Apple Pencil. This unlocks a whole new world of creative possibilities for the everyday iPad user.

Drawing apps like Procreate and Affinity Designer are now more accesible to anyone without an iPad Pro, and users of this new iPad can also take advantage of its use outside of creative apps with support in native apps like Pages, Numbers, Keynote, and even Microsoft Office.

Specs wise, this new 9.7 inch iPad will feature the A10 Fusion processor, which on stage, was said to be more powerful than anything in a Chromebook today. Everything else in its internals is what we’ve come to expect in an entry-level iPad model.

That being said, it is no slouch either as this new iPad is intended to be an all around creative tool for students. Everything from the usage of the front and rear cameras, the microphones, and the screen, is aimed at providing an end-to-end means of creating, learning and exploring.

This makes things easier to create content on-device and cross sharing it between apps a seamless process – like making music through GarageBand and then using that track ina video presentations through Clips for example.

Also, Augmented Reality too has been made a highlight in this new iPad as educational apps, as well as, Apple’s own Swift and Swift Playgrounds platform is now able to support AR.

As For The Price
