COVID-19: Qatar Airways To Give Free 100,000 Return Tickets To Frontline Medical Workers

In recognition of healthcare professionals for their hard work and dedication during the Covid-19 pandemic, Qatar’s national carrier is offering 100,000 complimentary tickets on all Qatar Airways flights.

Medical workers are entitled to a pair of complimentary return Economy Class tickets — one for themselves and one for a companion — to anywhere on the airline’s global network.

This is so that they can take a well-deserved holiday to a destination of their choice for their efforts in helping to combat the virus.

Additionally, they also get to enjoy 35% off at Qatar Duty Free outlets at Hamad International Airport in Doha, according to a press release by the airline.

Applications Start Today

The giveaway opened today (May 12), which International Nurses Day 2020 also falls on, and will end at 11.59pm on May 18 (Doha time).

Healthcare professionals can register at qatarairways.com/ThankYouHeroes by submitting a form to receive a unique promotion code, offered on a first come, first served basis.

Healthcare professionals, limited to doctors, medical practitioners, nurses, paramedics, pharmacists, lab technicians and clinical researchers, from every country in the world will be eligible for the tickets. A valid employer ID must be presented at the airport at the point of check in.

To ensure the application process is fair and transparent, each country will receive a daily allocation of tickets, depending on its population size, staggered over a seven-day period from May 12 – 18.

Tickets must be booked before 26 November, with travel valid until 10 December 2020.

The tickets will be fully flexible, with an unlimited number of destination or date changes allowed without any fees. Fare and surcharges will be waived on tickets while airport taxes apply.
