In March 2020, Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan confirmed that Razer’s new Southeast Asia headquarters is “on track for opening this year.”
However, 2020 has come and gone by without any opening news, though it is very likely that the COVID-19 pandemic has delayed its opening.
According to media reports, the official opening has been shifted to the second quarter of 2021.
On his LinkedIn page, Tan posted an update today (Feb 1) that the company logo on the new HQ is now up, with an accompanying photo of the site.
Spanning 19,300 sqm, the seven-storey building at one-north business park will be illuminated with “strips of LED lighting” in “signature Razer green”.
There’s also a possibility that Tesla might power Razer’s upcoming HQ in Singapore, following a Twitter exchange between Elon Musk and Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan in 2019.
Razer Is Hiring
Tan also announced that Razer will be hiring for about 1,000 positions for this upcoming headquarters.
He did not elaborate what these roles are, or the timeline for hiring.
On the company’s LinkedIn page, there are 48 job openings available worldwide. Out of this figure, 18 are based in Singapore.
Some recently-posted jobs include a chief information security officer, senior electronics engineer, community events specialist, digital marketing specialist, global e-sports director, and a business development manager for RazerGold.
