It also urged the ban of mobile phone usage when riding, "unless the mobile phone is mounted or used in a hands-free manner".
According to LTA, the disposal can take place over the next six months, starting from 23 September 2019 to 31 March 2020.
PMD owners will be banned from riding their PMDs in the void decks and common corridors of HDB blocks in 15 town councils run by the People's Action Party.
Every PMD in Singapore will be put up to mandatory inspections from April 2020, and must meet safety standards by July 2020.
It is now illegal to ride an unregistered escooter without a license in Singapore from 1 July. Those found guilty will be fined or jailed.
