Here Are The First Hires That The Jobs & Zuckerbergs Of The World Made For Their Companies

With the release last month of the biographical film about the life of Steve Jobs, it’s safe to say that we live in a world where some tech entrepreneurs are as well-known as the pop stars that perform to sell-out crowds, the actors that walk down red carpets, and the sporting heroes that score the winning goals. As extraordinary as the likes of Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates are, the companies they founded — Facebook, Amazon and Microsoft — could never have grown into billion dollar businesses without a little help from their employees.

And these days they get a lot of help: Apple’s 2014 annual report stated the company had more than 90,000 employees. It wasn’t always this way of course, as every tech company had to start with their very first hire, as this infographic from the UK-based job search site Adzuna shows. From the Apple employee that also helped fund the fledgling company to the eBay staffer who went on to produce Oscar nominated films, the infographic shows that while they might not be as well-known as their employers, the first hires of tech giants are an incredible bunch in their own right.
