Apple To Increase Prices Of All Paid Apps In Singapore In The Next 3 Days

Apple To Increase Prices Of All Paid Apps In Singapore

In an online document released by Apple, it is revealed that they will be raising the price of paid apps and in app purchases in seven countries, one of which includes Singapore.

The seven countries with upcoming price increases are Singapore, New Zealand, Canada, Israel, Mexico, Russia and South Africa.

For the upcoming price increase, paid apps in Singapore’s App Store will cost a minimum of S$1.48, a S$0.20 increase from the previous minimum price of S$1.28. According to an email to Apple’s app developers, the rise in price is due to fluctuations in exchange rates, and we will see the price increase in effect within the next 3 days.

Out of the S$1.48, S$1.04 goes to the app developer, while the rest goes to Apple. Here’s the new pricing table released by Apple:

So what does this mean for you and me? In the next 3 days, we will be notified by Apple of the price changes, and we will have the option to either continue with the price changes, or discontinue the subscription plan.

And this is probably the last time we will see the S$1.28 app price tag on the app store.
